Sheriffmuir 1715 - threat from forestry
/As many of you will have heard, the Forestry Commission has granted permission for a large area of commercial forest to be developed on Sheriffmuir Battlefield.
This decision would reduce the open area of the battlefield to a narrow corridor, flanked on either side by dense forest, denying any visitor an understanding of the terrain of this famous moorland.
The Trust is very disappointed by this decision, which has been taken despite considerable opposition, and continues to oppose it.
