Join us for a spectacular weekend of top-class living history and battle re-enactment displays, bringing together some of the finest black-powder re-enactors in Britain. Return to the 18th century and look on as the events of 1745 unfold before you. Visit the encampments of the rival armies, talk to the soldiers and discover how they lived and fought, and meet the commanders as they prepare their strategies for battle. Observe as the soldiers train for war, then witness the drama, smoke and sounds of the climactic battle featuring cannon, foot and horse.
As well as the living history areas you can visit stalls where you can find out more about the battle, the historic 1722 waggonway, and more besides. There'll even be a chance to wargame the Battle of Prestonpans, or to see an 18th style printing press in action! Plus pipe music, children's crafts and games, two book launches and some great food and drink available too! A not-to-be-missed event for all the family.
Tickets can be purchased on the gate or in advance. Reduced price available for those arriving between 11am-12pm!
